Just a little reminder that there will be a HMS gig tomorrow, 29 January, 3pm held at NP's LT68! Come down and support us! :)


Plus, there's another (YES, ANOTHER! WOOPIE!) gig this coming Sunday, 31 January at 8am. We'll be performing for a good cause, Run For My Lunch 2010, a charity run organised by students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Humanities, Compassion Youte in Action (CYA).

The aim is to help students from needy families under the umbrella of Student Advisory Centre (SAC).

Sup' BB folks!

There will be a rehearsal at 4.30pm for 21st's gig on the 20th January (Wednesday). Folks who are able to make it (be it on Wednesday/ Thursday), please reply Sanjay or Syah thanks! Fyi, folks gotta reach convention centre at 7.30am (tentative, not confirmed) on Thursday if rehearsal on Wednesday is not commenced. Excuse letters will be given.

As for the other 2 gigs, more details will be provided in the upcoming entry.

Farewell, my comrades..

Hey all, few things I wanna tell you guys, especially the year 1s, soon to be year 2s.
As you know, many of your seniors would probably not be around much if not at all after this Open House, due to many reasons such as school matters. On behalf of the current year 2s, I'd wish you guys well in everything you do and continue to have fun, play music and keep your BB family ties close.

I have every confidence in Sanjay the boss-man's ability to lead Baracuda and bring you to greater heights. Please do support him and Syah in every way you can and care and love for all your fellow members. Committee people, if you encounter any difficulties with band matters or in general, please don't hesitate to seek help and support from your fellows, the year 2s and from Faith. Don't know about the others, but I'll definitely come down once in a while to see how you guys are doing or whenever you need me, I'm just a call away (: This is just the beginning for you guys and there are many things waiting ahead for you. Whether good or bad, let's do it all together alright?

Also, don't forget the things that Faiz asked y'all to do: research all about batucada, samba, and all other genre of music possible; don't limit yourselves to what you are already playing now, dare to try new things and expand your musical knowledge. As a start, I want the barang-barang section to know all the parts to the songs of all the instruments in your section, and if possible, the surdo parts as well. For the surdo section, know all the parts to high-mid-low tones of EVERY song, and start learning all the barang-barang parts as well. Snare section, learn all the surdo parts, and some barang-barang parts to the songs.

So, that's all for now. You guys work hard, drink lots of water, take care of yourselves and each other, and keep the passion burning. See you all!

NP Open House 2009

Hey guys heads up,

Open House is gonna be held on 7, 8 and 9 Jan, which is this coming Thursday to Saturday. I've already put some names on booth duty (booth is at the admin field, next to cheers) on the days, but please, it would be good if you guys be down at the booth ANYTIME you're free. Don't worry about skipping lessons cause I'd request for excuse letters, but if you have a particularly important tutorial/practical please try not to skip it.
The reason why I want you guys to be at the booth for, hopefully the whole day, is that we may be having small impromptu performances at random times, on top of the actual showcases we have to do on the main stage.

Main stage performance slots:
Thursday 7th: 4 - 4.15pm, 2 songs
Friday 8th: 4.05 - 4.10pm, 1 song
Saturday 9th: 3 - 3.05pm, 1 song

BA performances:
3pm for all 3 days

HS performances:
2pm for all 3 days

Attire:
7th Thurs - White top, long bottoms/berms
8th Fri - Black top, long bottoms/berms
9th Sat - White top, long bottoms/berms
*Note: No shorts or flip-flops. According to the words of Ms June Phoon.

Please go down to the booth on your own accord guys cause there's supposed to be at least 3 people manning the booth at all times, and some of the people I put on duty might not be free all the time. Thanks for your co-operation people, and have fun in the new year! I'll be passing down everything (hopefully) to Sanjay after this week's Open House has ended and probably not come down for practices anymore, but I'll definitely come see you guys whenever I'm free! Or maybe we can have like, BB lunch/dinner every Saturday or something so we can all stay in touch.
