Rehearsal @ NYJC

HEY PEOPLE!

There's a rehearsal at NYJC tmr.

Report at the storeroom at 11am tmr as the bus will be leaving at 11.30am.

We should be able to leave nyjc by 2pm after the rehearsal.

Ok guys. Sorry for the delay just now. I know it must be torturing to wait so long. Anyways here's some updates and SNEAK PREVIEW of the other gigs we have. NOTE: Any details we have we will update you guys ASAP. But we'll release the dates 1st so that you guys can be mentally prepared 1st.

->For tommorrow's rehearsal i have asked Faith whether we can skip it, but we can't. So whoever can make it, please meet 4 pm at the storeroom. Any changes i will update you guys tmr when i see you all for the gig.

Now it's the gigs for next month. If there is an asterisk means it's either not confirmed, either waiting for approval or waiting for the organiser to finalise, or it does not involve everyone.

We'll be having our showcase of 10-15 mins, before we come together to set the record for Bloco Singapura to be the largest Bateria for Singapore. We'll should be playing Samba together with Bloco, so we'll practise on that. More updates soon.


So as you can see, we have quite a few gigs for November. We might be doing something to help make sure everyone don't get overworked, especially for the week of 16-22nd Nov. Until then please take note of these dates 1st.

Hi guys, i've just recieved news that the bus will be coming at 4.45, so please make sure you are on time! once again, it's WHITE TOP and LONG WHITE BOTTOMS. PLEASE BRING THE $5.

Also, please make sure you message me by 23rd Oct (THU) if you cannot make it or not interested in the 22nd Nov's gig. The timing is not confirmed, but the tentative time so far is 1 pm. The venue will be the fountain of wealth at Suntec city. Just a short note on what it's about, it is part of Bloco Singapura setting the record of the biggest bateria in SG, so we'll be part of it. But also more importantly, there will be about 10-15 mins of our own time to showcase out songs. So everyone is strongly recommended to come.

Also, last but not least, for the international bazaar showcase, we'll most likely be playing Samba for the event, so we will touch on that the next prac.

Charity Walkathon @ SMU Campus Green
Date: 15 Aug Saturday

The people will arrange for our instruments to be transported there on Friday, after 4pm, so I need some people to help load the stuff onto their lorry on that day. We'll take a bus from school down to SMU Campus Green on the day itself. The event should end at 1pm and water is provided!

F1 in Schools - The Singapore Challenge 2009!

Alright peopies, this is the guppies first official performance evar, and here are the details:

Reporting time: 1.50pm at Blk 73 Storeroom
Performance attire: Black top (with minimal designs), any bottoms, and COVERED SHOES.
Performance timing: from 2.45pm to around 3pm

We are supposed to be geared up and ready by 2.30pm backstage at the Convention Centre, so please get all your instruments ready and be at the venue as quickly as possible!

People who have classes at that time DO NOT WORRY as we have prepared excuse letters issued by SDAR for you to submit to your respective schools. However, if you have a test or a REALLY important lesson, it would be advised that you do not skip that cause studies are more important!

Most importantly, HAVE FUN ON STAGE AND ENJOY YOURSELVES!

Hi guys,

Hope everything's going well for the exams. Practices will be back next week! It will be on the usual Monday and Wednesday and there will be an extra day of practice which we'll inform you soon. If you still do wish to join us, you can try again next year as we do not accept too many people in, due to how a batucada band is supposed to run.

Hey peopies! *stares at cp's shirt*

We'll have a total of 3 performances for the fiesta. Excuse letters are provided.

2. Convention Centre Performance

Attire is White BB tee, any bottoms on Monday and Black BB tee on Tuesday. Please avoid wearing flip flops.

Welcome to Ngee Ann Polytechnic!

Baracuda Batucada is the name of the group and make you groove, we will. With a history back from 2004, the samba percussion ensemble from Ngee Ann Polytechnic has been rocking crowds out and entertained many people for many events. Starting out on campus, Baracuda Batucada has performed in many different places since then. From Orchard Road, Zouk to even China, the group has grown much over the years, rocking out their addictive samba percussion tunes. Their hard rocking beats have certainly made their name sound far and wide.

From the beginning of a 3-man team, the team has now a stronghold of 17 members, with different backgrounds and experience. Passionate musicians wanting to make a difference, a calling to make music and a desire to rock is what that has brought this group of people together today.

Whenever the hard thumping rhythms are heard around in campus, students in Ngee Ann Polytechnic know that it’s Baracuda Batucada showing their thing. With their authentic slogan of “Heavier than samba, Lighter than ROCK”, the group will definitely surprise and entice you with their rhythms!

After our slot, the bus will fetch us back to NP to return our instruments and to send us back again to Zouk. Since most of you guys are not 18 yet, we'll either spend the night somewhere else or you guys can go home from NP straight. We'll decide what we can do tomorrow. So anyway, exams are coming in so study well guys! Now that there's no prac, manage your time and study smart. Don't stress too much, just remember we'll be rewarding ourselves after this with the Zouk Gig and Baracuda Camp. and other gigs which I can't seem to remember right now.

THREE GIGS AND A BEER.

Hello everyone! These are the details for this Saturday's gigs!

Meet at Boon Lay MRT Station at 8.30am for the Boon Lay Mrt gig, with your proper attire of BLACK BB TEE & DESIGNATED BOTTOMS! Instruments will be transported over the day before, so don't worry! Guys will be wearing BERMS while girls will wear their LONG PANTS/JEANS. Guys need to bring along your long pants as well for the nighttime gig!

For the FlashMob gig, these are the performance timings:
Orchard (Stop 1: Outside Taka [1300-1315], Stop 2: Heeren [1320-1335] Stop 3: Plaza Sing [1345-1400])
Bus will be leaving school for town at 12.30pm! We'll be leaving there at around 2 plus on a bus straight to Raffles City Shopping Centre, and we can lepak and shop there till our last gig at 6!

For the Dinner & Dance at 6pm, attire is Black BB tee and LONG PANTS as it is a more formal event. Details will be given to you on the day itself, don't worry.

OH YEAH. There will be lots of media people around us for the FlashMob thing, so do whatever you need to make yourselves look good k! Ayl, CP, Faz, Julian, HATS! (:

REMINDER

Please text Ying Xin before tomorrow's practice if you can make it for all gigs so we can make necessary arrangements and prepare your excuse letters. We have reminded you at the end of last practice to do this so don't tell me this is a last minute post. And when I say 'if' that does not mean you have a choice to come or not. You have to, unless your reason is really valid and that me, Ying Xin or Faiz have approved of. If you have any problems with school, personal problems or whatever that is holding you back from Baracuda, please talk to us. We are your friends after all. :)

Hello hello people!

Here are the updates for the gigs we have in Feb so far.

1. 3th Feb: NP FOC09 Corporate video shooting
Venue: NP field at stadium
Attire: Baracuda White, any bottoms. (please look nice, especially since its a shooting)
Reporting Time: 2pm sharp with instruments.
We'll be collaborating with Magnum Force for this.

2. 7th Feb. 3 events, rest well for this guys!
a)Read and Discover '09
Venue: Frontier Community Club (near Boon Lay MRT)
Attire: Baracuda Black, any bottoms.
Reporting Time: 8am
b)Speak Good English Movement Flash Mob, bus leaving at 12.30pm
Venue: The Heerens', Takashimaya, Plaza Singapura
Attire: Baracuda Black, any bottoms
c)Dinner and Dance event, 6pm
Venue: Raffles Hotel
Attire: Baracuda Black, long pants

3. 11th Feb: Speak Good English Movement at Zouk Ticket Sales
Venue: NP Bus stop

Reporting Time: 3.30pm

Note: Please be punctual for practice. Compulsory Attendance. Be at club house by 6.o0pm on Monday cos Haris will conduct the practice for the FOC video shooting with Magnum.

Performance for event at Ourspace

Many apologies! The ourspace performance is on the 20th instead of the 19th, so sorry for the mix-up in the date! For tomorrow, meet at the clubhouse at 8.30am, performance starts at 9! Attire is Black Baracuda Tee and any bottoms! I'm sure you know about the covered shoes, too!

There will be another performance later that day at 5! There will be 3 slots for that event, one at 5.30, another at 6.55, and last one at 8.00pm. Attire is the same as it is on the same day! Be at the clubhouse for this event by 4.20pm! Event is at street soccer court!

Kovan Gig!

Hello people! There's gonna be a gig at Kovan for the 1st Step Bazaar this Saturday 17th Jan, 11am to 3 plus! Transport will leave NP at 9.30am from the admin block 1 and the same transport will get you back to Ngee Ann at 3.30pm from Kovan. There are 3 performance slots, 12pm to 12.10pm, 1.40pm to 1.50pm, and 3pm to 3.10pm.

Attire is White Baracuda Tee with any bottoms, covered shoes! Please be in school by 8.50am alright! By the way, i think eugene, jerald and cheryl have stalls set up at the bazaar, so go check them out too! (:

NP Open House 2009!

Hey people! This is regarding Open House from 8th to 10th January, and the time slots for our main stage performances!

8th Jan (Thursday) : 11.00am, 3.55 pm
9th Jan (Friday) : 2.55 pm

Each performance slot is 5mins each. It would be good if we could be ready for the performance at least 15mins before the allocated time slots!

Attire:
8th Jan : Black Baracuda Tee, covered shoes, any bottoms.
9th Jan : White Baracuda Tee, covered shoes, any bottoms.
10th Jan : Black Baracuda Tee, covered shoes, any bottoms.

Regarding which time slot you are allocated for booth-duty, details will be given to you on Wednesday, so don't worry! See you and have a nice day!

School's back (oh damn, I know) which also means there's practice on Monday.
Please take note that the interviewers from Berita Harian will be around to take photos so it would be great if you guys are decently dressed. No slippers!
