Hey.

We are left we 2 shows for the year so work hard guys.

Saturday, we're performing for dancesport. Reporting time is 3 pm. Does who will be coming late, pls inform me. Attire is all white.

We are also will be performing at plaza singapura on new years eve. Reporting time would be 8 pm. Attire will be bb shirt and berms.

We have already have shows for Jan next year so be prepared for that.

And as for the event for the Youth Olympic, if you guys do well and get noticed, they might call us up again if Singapore wins the bid for the Youth Olympic Games.

So... i cannot stress any futher the importance of these upcoming performance.

If possible, try working on a new song to widen our repertoire for the shows.


And to prepare yourself, STUDENTS, pls start studying now cause i understand that your common test are coming. I'll like to advice you that December will be a busy month for you all.

Senior Meeting Compulsory

Dear Seniors of Baracuda Batucada,
I would like to hold an Urgent meeting with you guys tomorrow evening, 22nd Oct 2007, at 7pm at the clubhouse. The reason for this meeting is to discuss the future of this band, the situations that we are faced with currently and the reason why the meeting with band was canceled.

Why the juniors are not involved in this meeting is because at the moment i would like to amend some problems regarding some past issues - i hope you guys would understand.

Name of event: “Experience the New Platinum Life (Roving Ambassadors)"

We are performing in 16 different location in 4 hours. So be prepared for that.

There will be practice on this Friday(27th July). Reporting time would be at 7. You can come before that to practice or chill inside the clubhouse.

Just a reminder. Reporting time for this Sundays' performance is at 7.30AM. Do sleep early on Saturday. Attire for this performance is our NEW Baracuda T-Shirt with berms. We will be back at Ngee Ann around 12. After that we go Botak Jones?

Matin is performing at Orchard cinelesure at 4.30pm on the same day. Lets go there together and support him!

After our AAN performance, we will take a break for exams so do concentrate for your exams andall the best.

Hey guys. Just a little update about everything.

Pops And Classics, Saturday(30th June):-

• Reporting time is 3 pm for everybody in the clubhouse. $4 for latecomers.
• Attire for the performance is all black. It doesn't have to be be formal but no skirts and shorts. And covered shoes please.

MilkRun, Sunday(1st July):-

• Reporting time is 2 pm for everybody in the clubhouse.
  
• Attire for the performance is Baracuda shirt and berms or 3/4. Those who haven't got their t- shirt, please inform me.
• We are leaving Ngee Ann at 3pm.
• The whole thing will end around 6.

Thanks for linking us up with Barracuda.

I'd like to commend them for a great job done. Their energy level was great and I could see that they have left a lasting impression on the Sec 4 and 5 students at DPA. Even our staff were impressed with their performance.

Wednesday practice is compulsory, only practice left for the Friday and Monday shows - NRA will join us for practice at 10.00pm. We need to practice a new song lasting 1.30mins for NRA (Good practice, No its not unreasonable). Everyone please learn this, the whole beginning - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV0t7jjEkJ4 . The first 1 mins is this the other 30 seconds would be the end of the Danzation song (Samba Raggae). Simple right? So please learn!

Alright guys... I've uploaded the song here for u guys to listen and get a rough idea of how the song goes. And also perhaps to get more ideas for the song we're making now. But take note not to copy as a whole. Originality very important!

The bridge i'm suggesting we do something like the one at the 1m33sec mark where everybody go soft suddenly and we do a barang barang/bass/repenique solo. We can also do some crowd interaction here. After that we go crazy again.

Dearest Fishes.....

After the meeting last night, my mind has not gotten off the issue we are in right now (and to whoever that has not thought about it, this post is for you guys), and what i am about to write would be my thoughts and decisions.

The whole day i was thinking of why certain questions and views were being put to the table and trying to figure out the biggest catch of this proposal. And i figured that there is no bigger catch to this proposal than us. Look back at all the questions you asked, what if this, what if that, what if i can and what if i cannot. There is nothing wrong with the proposal, i see it as why not, but looking back at us, i ask why yes?

In a couple of months, BB will be 3yrs old. Within 3yrs we have built ourselves from nothing to something and here we are today to make one of the most biggest decision ever. What are we gonna do about it?

This are the categories you guys have to put yourself in.

If last night you have made your decision, than you have not decided wisely, things like this need to be thought out carefully, up to the littlest detail.
If yes, Izzit because of the luxury that we are promised of getting or izzit because it will bring the group to move forward?
If during the meeting or until now you question yourself what if i cannot play what if i dont have the capability, all i could say its your own fault. It does not lie with the group, its your individual responsibility to have the skill, if yours is still minimal, i'm sorry but to cut it you have to work your ass off.
If you are still WOWing over the future, than please wake up from dreamland.
And If you had said no, i would like to hear the reason.
Taking the risk is no problem, signing the contract is no problem too - but these are just words. Through the years BB had many words that have not put into action when comes to musicality of individual musicians. Though we play percussion instruments do some of you dare say "I am a true percussionist?" As an individual, are you creative enough, are you well equiped with a skill, are you passionate of what you are doing, do you know what you're doing and most of all are you strong enough to lead your peers in any situation?

These are the situations.
Writing songs - able to come up with ideas in less than 5mins?
Performances - able to perform the repertoire well, given less than a weeks notice? Willing to stand up infront of the crowd to entertain?
Musicality - Dynamics, groove - do you even understand what is that?
Skills - Can you play the instrument well if i were to pass it to you.
ad libing skills - If there is a mistake, if there is a change in the song, do you have the capability to make it right?
Finally - do you trust yourself to lead your peers throughout the song without any hiccups and make it a fantastic show? (good shows are not an option)

How great the band is, is determined by how good the weakest member is. Right now, you know who you are, depending on the next for the answers. If you want to do this, you cannot go to war with just a small pen knife, you have to be prepared with a sword and parang only than you can survive. If you know all this while you've been hiding with the knife, you should know than that there are ppl you always depend on to fight for you.

Simply said, you guys work hard and everyone agrees to the contract, many will stay with BB if not many shall leave. Fillet, Zarin, Fauzi, Jas and I have gone through every piece of history of BB since this began, to us this is our baby and after 3yrs this opportunity to take a huge risk comes to us and we dont take it, we have wasted this passion and i see no point the few of us continue to achieve it. At the end of the day, we are just any other phase in the NP scene, like our ex NPcombo band or we are still there but being in NP is the furthest we can ever go.

Look back at all the meetings, our plans for the future. And look and what we wanted to do, this proposal is more than what we wanted. ND has opened the door for us, are we going to drag each other in or are we gonna walk in or not at all. I believe as a band all of us have to carry about the same amount of weight. right now its not balanced. I dont want some of us to carry other ppls load, it will be very unfair. To make everything work, everyone muz be responsible for their own individual self in BB.

I give you guys till like coming wednesday to think about it.

Upcoming Performances and Plan!

Guys John has invited us to perform for 2 more events. I will need your reply by tonight - as i am uncontactable by hp please call my place or leave your confirmation on the tag board.

• 2 February 2007 (Friday) - Rolling Wok (Opening of a cafe), should be evening.
• 17 March 2007 (Saturday) - Singapore Biathlon 2007! Singapore Biathlon is an annual event for biathletes. East Coast Park near capark F2. The event starts at about 830am till about 12pm.

It will be great that we perform for these events because we are raising money for our trip and definitely for the future. Currently we have slightly more than eight hundred in our funds. John has told me that he is getting more shows for us to raise more bucks and we can use the money anyway we wish it for the trip. If we raise enough all of us can go for the trip at $200 and even better if we can just pay lesser than that. Work Hard ya? and hope hard this few weeks we get invited to perform more. So far our latest shows outside school are all paid shows.

Guys i just got this invite today by John to perform on 21st January 2007 - Sunday, on a Duck Tour Truck. We will perform on the truck for half an hour. The good news is, we will perform on it while the truck move around estates and we can make as much noise as we freakin want to, the idea is to wake up the neighbourhood.

To those who have dreamt to be the bass drummer in Drumline, this is your chance. =)
